2005-03-06 – 2012-05-07
We made the journey all the way to Dalby in southern Sweden to bring our beautiful and special girl “Singel” home with us from S*Sir Maxwell’s Cattery. She was the only kitten in her litter, which is how she got her name. We’re so happy to have her living with us.
She’s a tough little one and, believe it or not, she chases our vacuum cleaner! She also loves playing with the other cats, although some of the older Birman cats think she can be a bit much for them. Singel is also quite the mischief-maker, thanks to her curious nature.
In October 2005, Singel won Best in Show Junior at the Skogkattslingan Championship. After that, we decided to give her a break from cat shows. Instead, she went on a honeymoon with our Leo. Our very first litter was expected in March 2006, and we were excited to see what kind of kittens Leo and Singel would have.
On March 9, 2006, Singel gave birth to our first litter — four beautiful kittens. There were three boys and one girl. The boys came in different colors, and we were especially pleased that one of them was blue. It’s been exciting to watch them grow.
In August 2006, Singel earned her first title and became a Champion. In December, she traveled to Norway to meet the handsome (N)Bytangen’s Asgeir, a son of our male, Leo. This mating resulted in our February 2007 A-ha litter, which produced seven kittens — six boys and one girl, who stayed with us. Some of the kittens from this litter have done really well at cat shows, and it’s been exciting to follow their journeys.
In 2007, Singel also became an International Champion, which we felt was a perfect way to end her show career.
In 2008, we hoped for kittens with Vineto, specifically blue tortie girls. But as sometimes happens, things didn’t go according to plan. We began looking for a new male for her, and it was exciting to see who would be the right match.
After a long wait, Singel finally came into heat, and we decided she should meet our French boy, Casanova. The result was four adorable kittens, born on May 8, 2009, known as the Pink litter. This was Singel’s final litter, and she retired from breeding after that.
Singel was a very healthy cat overall, though she did struggle with weight gain. Over the years, she consistently gained weight, both as a breeding queen and later, as a neutered female. It became a health concern, so we tried treating her with veterinary food, but she always wanted to eat more.
In May 2012, Singel suddenly became ill, and we rushed her to the veterinary clinic. Sadly, there was nothing they could do. Her liver was enlarged, and she was diagnosed with Hepatic Lipidosis and Hepatomegaly. We had no choice but to make the difficult decision to let her go, ending her suffering.
Rest in peace, our sweet and lovely lady Singel. You will always be missed.

In October 2005 Singel was Best in Show Junior at Skogkattslingans championship. Then we decided to let Singel take a brake from catshows and instead of that she went on a honeymoon with our Leo. Our very first litter will be born i march 2006 and it will be very interesting to se what kind of kittens Leo and Singel will give us.
At last we had our first kittens after Singel and Leo in Kiss-litter. In 9:th of March 2006 there was born four lovely kittens.
It was three boys and one girl. The boys had different colors and we were happy that one of them was blue. It will be very exciting for us to follow their development.
In August 2006, Singel got her first title, and became Champion. In december she went to
Norway to mate a nice looking guy (N)Bytangen’s Asgeir. This guy is a son after our male ”Leo”. This combination was bor in February 2007 and it was named to our a-ha litter.
There was 7 kittens in a-ha litter, 6 males and 1 female that stayed in our cattery. Some of the kittens has been very successful at catshows and it will be great to follow them. This year 2007, Singel also became International Champion and that will probobly end her show career.
In 2008 we hoped for some kittens with Vineto, our wish was some bluetortie girls,
but sometimes the plans dont work out as you wish. We have started to look for a new male to her and we will see who it will be.
After a long time waiting she was finally coming into heat. We decided that she should meet our
French boy Casanova. The result was 4 sweet kittens that was born 2009-05-08, Pink litter. This was Singels last litter and she is now a retired breeding queen.
Singel was a very healthy cat except for one thing, her weight problem. During the years she had always gained weight even as a breeding queen, and then as a neutered female she became more and more fat. It was not healthy for her and we started to treat her with veterinary food, but without no effect at all. She just wanted to eat!
In May 2012 she suddenly became ill and we took her to a veterinary clinic but there was nothing to do. Her liver was enlarged and she had a fat liver. Her diagnose was Leverlipidos & Hepatomegali. There was nothing to do except from stoping her from suffering, our sweet and lovely Singel, R.I.P.
