I had originally been looking for a female with a lot of white, but then I came across a litter from the Des Iles Lofoten Cattery in France that I simply couldn’t stop thinking about, especially a beautiful kitten with a lot of white. The catch was, it was a male, but he was absolutely perfect in my eyes, and my heart said yes. I couldn’t resist him — his name was Drangedal.

Drangedal has an amazing appearance, with beautiful ears adorned with lynx tufts and a strong bone structure. We couldn’t wait to watch him grow and hoped he would develop beautifully. A big thank you to Gisèle for giving us the opportunity to welcome this beautiful white prince into our home. In the future, we planned to take him to shows and hoped he would also have the chance to mate with some of our females.

By the time he turned one, Drangedal had grown into a large, healthy young male with an excellent weight. His development was impressive, and we eagerly awaited his first litter with our girls.

In November 2009, the S*NC’s Michael Jackson* litter was born. It consisted of six kittens, five males, and one tortie female, sired by S*NC’s Cry Wolf. We decided to keep one of the males, S*NC’s Man In The Mirror*, in our cattery, as this combination brought together all the cats we had built our breeding program with.

In January 2011, Drangedal became a father for the second time, this time with S*NC’s Cool Cat from S*Sweet Scarlet’s cattery. They had four beautiful kittens. Later that year, in May, he sired his third litter with S*NC’s Cry Wolf once again, resulting in four kittens in the S*NC’s Rolling Stones litter. The only female in this litter, S*NC’s Angie, was sold to S*Zimexis cattery. We later bought back a daughter from her, S*Zimexis Isadora Duncan. In July, he fathered another litter, the S*NC’s Roxette* litter, together with S*NC’s Words Unspoken. It was a beautiful litter, and one of the boys, S*NC’s Joyride*, had a lot of success at shows, even becoming a Junior Winner. Drangedal’s last litter was born in 2011 at S*Zygot’s cattery.

We had hoped for many more litters and many more years with our white prince, but sadly, he fell ill with a condition called Triaditis. This illness involves three different conditions: pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), cholangiohepatitis (inflammation of the liver), and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which affects the intestines.

We are heartbroken that we couldn’t save you, Drangedal. Rest in peace, our sweet boy.

At an age of 1 years old he had a really good size and his weight was really good for a young male. He has developed nice and we cant wait to see his first kittens with our girls.
